Paris Is Always A Good Idea

During our European tour, we also visited Paris, the capital of France, which is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. With its old age architecture and its new age skyscrapers, Paris is a living blend of old and new.

The construction of the Arc de Triomphe was ordered by the French Emperor Napoleon in 1806 to honor the French army – the Grande Armee.

Paris is known as the City of Lights because it was one of the first European cities to adopt gas street lighting. In 1820, 56,000 gas lamps were placed to illuminate the streets and boulevards of Paris, which presented a breathtaking night view and therefore gained this nickname.

Paris has 2.8 million inhabitants and it is usually said that it is the largest French-speaking city in the world. However, the largest French-speaking city in the world is Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, in Africa, with a population of more than 10 million French-speaking people.

The pyramid-shaped museum “Louvre” is the most visited art museum in the world. It took more than six centuries to build the Louvre and there are over 35,000 works of art and 380,000 objects in this museum.

The Louvre Museum is the world’s most popular museum, welcoming around 9 million visitors every year.
The largest bell located inside the south tower of Notre Dame Cathedral is called Emmanuel, and it weighs more than 13,000 kilograms.
A symbol of Parisian romanticism, its 37 bridges along the Seine are more than just gateways to connect the two sides of the capital.
